Build & Weave: An Introduction to Frame Looms

Handwoven textile on a handmade frame loom created during a beginner weaving workshop in Historic Downtown Colfax, California

Sunday, July 19, 2026 | 1–3pm 38 N. Main Street (rear unit), Colfax, CA Tuition: $50 | Materials: $15 | Total: $65

Downtown Colfax has a creative and surprisingly accessible weaving workshop coming up this July — proof that you don’t need a big studio or an expensive loom to start making something beautiful with fiber.

In this beginner-friendly two-hour class, participants will build their own frame loom using simple household materials, then learn to weave on it using a selection of colorful and natural yarns. From the first warp thread to the last weave, you’ll get the hands-on guidance you need to feel confident working the loom on your own.

You’ll leave with a finished, ready-to-use frame loom and the foundational skills to keep experimenting with weaving at home — no extra equipment required.

No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.

Whether weaving has been on your creative bucket list for years or you’re simply looking for a relaxed and rewarding Sunday afternoon, this workshop is a wonderful place to start — right in the heart of Historic Downtown Colfax.

Space is limited — register early to secure your spot.
