About Live in Colfax

Live in Colfax is a free outdoor summer concert series produced by the Historic Colfax Downtown Association — five Saturday evenings of professional live music at the Art Park on South Main Street in historic downtown Colfax. No tickets. No cost. Just great music, local vendors, food trucks, and a community that shows up for itself. Gates open at 5:00PM with a Local Youth Spotlight performer, followed by an opening act and headlining band through 9:00PM. Free and open to all ages all summer long.

There are bands that play the blues. And then there is Matt Rainey & the Dippin’ Sauce — a band that makes the blues feel like a full body experience.

Two-time winners of the Sacramento Area Music Award for Blues Band of the Year and 2018 International Blues Challenge Quarter-Finalists in Memphis, Tennessee, this Northern California powerhouse plays over 200 shows a year and brings an all-star lineup to every single one. They’ve opened for Melvin Seals of the Jerry Garcia Band, Keller Williams, and Moe — and they bring that same big stage energy to every room they play.

Matt Rainey fuses soulful blues, rock, Americana and psychedelic jam into something that is genuinely hard to describe and impossible to forget. You don’t need to be a blues fan to love this band. You just need to show up.
