The Women Who Refused to Behave — A Live History Event with Chris Enss

This event has ended

Join us at the Historic Colfax Train Depot on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:00 AM for a powerful, live storytelling event with New York Times bestselling author Chris Enss.

As part of her national Women Who Refused to Behave tour, Enss brings to life the true stories of women who defied expectations and helped shape the American West — miners, performers, detectives, outlaws, and pioneers who refused to be forgotten.

These are the voices history tried to erase — from gambling hall queen Madame Moustache, to Pinkerton detective Kate Warne, to Lola Montez, the scandalous dancer who made Grass Valley her stage.

This isn’t just a talk — it’s a bold look at the women who didn’t just survive the West… they built it.
