If you’ve ever wanted to try working with clay, this is your sign. Craftfolk is hosting a hands-on beginner ceramics workshop this May — and no experience is needed to walk away with something beautiful.

Join instructor Simone on Saturday, May 2, 2026 for an introduction to hand building with clay, where you’ll shape, build, and create your very own planter pot from start to finish. It’s approachable, it’s creative, and it just might be the most fun you’ve had on a Saturday morning in a long time.

What You’ll Learn

This workshop is all about getting comfortable with clay and discovering what your hands can do. Working with a mix of hand building methods, Simone will guide you through the foundational techniques of shaping and building with clay — no pottery wheel required.

By the end of the session you’ll have a finished planter piece ready for the kiln. Craftfolk handles all the firing after class, and your completed planter will be ready for pickup within a few weeks. All you have to do is show up and dig in.

Meet Your Instructor — Simone

Simone is a lifelong ceramic artist turned teacher who brings a playful and holistic approach to every class she leads. In her own words:

“For me, clay is one of many ways we can feed our souls. As we dig into the sensory experience of playing with mud, we process, release and get to know ourselves a little better. This is especially powerful when done in community. I like to believe I am not the teacher — the clay is your teacher.”
