Colfax Railroad Days: Big Boy 4014 Celebration

Union Pacific’s iconic Big Boy Locomotive 4014 is making a 45-minute stop in downtown Colfax (12–12:45 p.m.) as part of its Coast to Coast Tour celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Join us for a full morning of festivities including live music by local band Malarkey, food trucks (Drewskies Tacos, Phat Jerry’s Philly, Mini Donut Shack), a kids zone with free HO train cars for ages 10 and under, local vendors, and a special appearance by The Black Flag Gang historical gunslinger actors.

The Colfax Visitors Center and Colfax Heritage Museum will be open during the event.

Parking: Railroad Street, North Main Street (behind the freight depot), and Sierra Vista Center on School Street. Handicap parking at US Bank.

⚠️ Grass Valley Street (Oak Ave to Main St) will be closed 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Please stay 25 feet from the train while it’s in motion.
