Colfax City Council: Supporting Downtown Revitalization
The Colfax City Council works closely with the City Manager to establish budgets, approve major projects, and pass policies that directly support downtown revitalization in Colfax. By prioritizing infrastructure improvements, downtown beautification, and business development, the Council ensures that these initiatives align with the community’s vision. Each Council member also serves on various boards and committees, bringing their expertise to enhance multiple aspects of city life and contribute to the revitalization of Colfax’s downtown.
The Council serves as the key decision-making body responsible for shaping the policies and projects that impact the future of our city, including the revitalization of our historic downtown.
A Key Partner in the Downtown Association
The Colfax City Council is an essential partner in the work of the Historic Colfax Downtown Association, supporting efforts to make our downtown a vibrant and thriving hub. By approving contracts for new business ventures, endorsing preservation projects, and engaging in cooperative activities with other government agencies, the Council plays a pivotal role in the revitalization of Colfax’s downtown.
Their decisions around funding, public-private partnerships, and historic preservation help ensure that Colfax remains a destination for both locals and visitors, preserving its charm while fostering economic growth.
Community Engagement and Transparency
The Colfax City Council invites feedback from residents and business owners on all matters that affect the downtown area, from new business opportunities to community events. The Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the City Council Chamber located at 33 S. Main Street. These meetings are also broadcast live on Zoom and Facebook Live, allowing everyone to stay connected and participate in the conversation.
